Create Past Memories from the Future
Sit quietly where you will not be disturbed. Close your eyes and take several long deep breaths. Now, imagine that your future is like a walkway in front of you. Take a step, and another, and another into your future. If you notice things along the way, that’s OK. Just keep walking until you get to the very end of your life. It has been a good life and you are ready to move to the next plane. Before you go, you look back at your life and reflect on the ups and downs, the trials and tribulations, the successes and accomplishments, and all the people you met along the way.
As you reflect, you notice that your mistakes and failures were your biggest learning opportunities. Your biggest accomplishments were not instantaneous. They were the outcome of your intention and your hard work. While looking back from a fulfilled life, think about those accomplishments, now. What were they?
Still looking back, think about the biggest accomplishment in your life. Notice how you set the intention to achieve it. Now notice the things you did to make that accomplishment come to life. Feel the motivation you had to keep going even when times were tough. Notice how completing that accomplishment changed the direction of your life and feel how it felt then when you achieved it.
Still looking back, from the very end of your life, let all of your accomplishments come into view. Reflect on them, paying particular attention to the things you did to make them come into reality.
