The Invisible Drives the Visible
You didn’t hear from me last week because I was at a business conference in Sunny Isles, Florida. It sounds wonderful and it was. I walked on the beach every morning, but from 9 to 9, I learned new skills to accelerate my success. Unlike conferences that teach technical processes and techniques, everything in this seminar was focused on healing inner wounds. Led by Christian Mickelsen, business coach and healer, it was the most powerful business seminar I ever attended.
The World is a Reflection
In the seminar, we learned that the invisible drives the visible. The world we live in is a reflection of filters that keep us safe and protect our beliefs, even when those beliefs no longer serve us.
The child had no way to know how that belief would affect the rest of his life. As an adult, he chose a high-stress career and became a workaholic. Recreation and fun became a foreign concept. He was not happy, but he continued his pattern because over time, that belief became insulated with layers of reinforcement. This may not be your story, but I bet you have one like it!
Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway!
Our only real fear is fear of feeling. Pushing feelings away, rejecting them, or ignoring feelings will not make them go away. It will keep you stuck in the place you are trying to get out of. You must face the shadow and feel your deepest fear to be fully present in your work and your life. 90% of your success will come from doing this work.
Paradigm Shift
For me, there was a dramatic shift. I uncovered hidden fears that I didn’t know were there. Some were deep, and some were closer to the surface but all of them were holding me back. I cleared fear of failure, fear of making the wrong decision, fear trusting, and fear of success. Then, each morning, I walked along the beach and let the ocean wash away what was left. As I neutralized my fears, I restored my self-confidence, self-trust, and belief in my authentic self.
